How to Paint Pottery & Ceramics:  Monster Bank with Speckle Paint

We used a blue paint with white speckles to give this monster bank and extra scary look, but you can use speckle paint on any piece of pottery!

Supplies 

  • Monster Bank Bisque
  • Paint Colors: Orange (9), Green (51), Blue Speckle (104 ), and Black
  • Fun Writer Colors: Black
  • Large Brush
  • Small Brushes

Ceramic Moster Bank with Speckle Paint

Steps

  1. Paint the eyes, arms and tail green (51) – use 3 coats 

  2. Paint the tongue and hands orange (9) – use 3 coats 

  3. Paint the body of the monster bank blue speckle (104) – use 3 coats 

  4. Paint the eyebrows and feet black – use 3 coats 

  5. Using a black fun writer, place a dot in each eye

    No…I have never used speckle paint, but can’t wait to try it out on the next piece of pottery that I paint!!! Cool! :-)

    Yes! … My daughter used brown speckle paint on her owl she made last week. She used it on the face and for part of the body. Worked great!!
    Polka Dot Pots is such a fun place!! We love it!!

    I used speckle paint on my kitty mug I made there last month :) As a matter of fact I’m drinking out of it right now :)

    Yes, I used speckle paint on a candy dish. The speckles match the color of M & Ms and the dish looks great when filled with M & Ms, of course!!

    No, I haven’t used speckle paint but just yesturday me, my sister, and my mom went to the polka dot pots in Wisconson Dells and my sister used speckle paint on her panda that she painted IT TURNED OUT AMAZING!!!!!!!! And I got really jealous because now I regret not using it on my puppy that I painted.
