How to Paint Pottery & Ceramics:  Skateboard

Learn how to paint this killer skateboard in 6 easy steps! It is simple to add stickers to personalize your skateboard on the top and trace flames on to the bottom.

Supplies:

  •  Skateboard Bisque
  •  Stickers
  •  Toothpick
  •  Paint Pod Colors: Black, Yellow (3), Orange (9), Red (20 ),and Green (51)
  •  Fun Writer Color: Black 
  • Medium Paint Brushes
  •  Natural Sponges
  • Flames Template
  •  Pencil

Ceramic Skateboard Paint Supplies

Steps:

  1. Place stickers on skateboard
  2. Paint the top of the skateboard – use 3 coats of paint
  3. Paint the bottom of the skateboard yellow and red, and then use the natural sponge to add the orange
  4. Using the flames template, trace the flames
  5. Outline the flames you just traced with a black fun writer, and then paint the rest of the bottom and wheels, and the border on the top of the skateboard, black
  6. Remove stickers with toothpick

Love that fun writer! You make it seem so easy to paint such beautiful objects and even though I have never been able to ride a skateboard, the one you just painted looks really safe.

I have ridden a skateboard once. I was seven and at my cousins. I fell off a step and busted a knee and that was it for me! I would much rather paint than skateboard! Haha :)

no I have not other than going 1 or 2 feet on it year’s ago, How ever my Son’s did and now my 9 year old Grandson does. and if we win he will have to paint a skateboard on a 6in" tile for my Tile hanging :),

The effect of going from light to dark colors is called "ombre." It looks great and is super easy!
