Shortly after my first paint-your-own pottery experience in college, I wrote a business plan for a studio of my own as an assignment for a business class - not even thinking at the time that I would actually use it. But after graduating, I decided to go for it! A local bank granted me a business loan and I opened the first Polka Dot Pots in 2003 in Wisconsin Dells.
Fast forward to today and I can hardly believe what that “little pottery shop” has become. I have 6 studios in 3 states, my husband works full-time with me on the business. Check out our sister studios:
The Mad Potter in Houston, Texas
Clay Casa in San Antonio, Texas
I am a proud mother of 4 children! This is our youngest, Elizabeth, at 3 months old hanging out in the studio with me. And, yes, we have tons of painted pottery pieces (many with handprints) around the house!
I arrived in the pottery world by a common path. I started with tennis, then I was a lawyer, and then naturally transitioned into pottery. Ha!
I am thrilled to be working alongside Erin and love the challenges of running a small business!
This is our oldest, Tripp, at 5 years old!
We absolutely love speaking with customers, prospective Team Members, pottery studio owners, and anyone else that loves pottery! Please send us a message and any feedback so that we can make Polka Dot Pots the best place to visit and work!
