Shortly after my first paint-your-own pottery experience in college, I wrote a business plan for a studio of my own as an assignment for a business class - not even thinking at the time that I would actually use it. But after graduating, I decided to go for it! A local bank granted me a business loan and I opened the first Polka Dot Pots in 2003 in Wisconsin Dells.
Fast forward to today and I can hardly believe what that “little pottery shop” has become. I have 3 studios in 3 states, my husband works full-time with me on the business, and I am a proud mother of 4 children!
This is our youngest, Elizabeth, at 3 months old hanging out in the studio with me. And, yes, we have tons of painted pottery pieces (many with handprints) around the house!
