I get my inspiration from The Lord and my daughter. We love to make things together. There’s nothing sweeter than spending time with her. She is very talented too.

I get my inspiration from my children and all the other children I encounter. We are foster parents and love when we watch how children are and their wonderful imaginations!!!! That and of course Pinterest is an awesome outlet for ideas as well!!

My inspiration is my family — immediate and extended — especially our kids, their Grandma (my Mom) and our pups. It’s always fun to personalize gifts when we come in! Loved Emma’s plate! :)

My inspiration comes from my grandchildren. They are too big for footprints, but I thought it would be fun painting their fingers and then painting finger faces.

I get my inspiration from my kids. My daughters imagination is so wild that we run with it and create a lot of fun projects. My little guys giggles and kicks get us going too! I also use my guilty pleasure of searching on pintrest during nap time to get some fun ideas. (When I should be doing laundry or cleaning the dishes. But, I figure all of those things can wait…the are only little for a short period of time and I need to take advantage of that :) )

Love the plate and hope to make one like that with my kids sometime soon!!

Hi Tina,

We always recommend hand washing pottery. It will last longer! If you put it in the dishwasher, over time you may start to see some cracking. For paint, we use Gare Fun Strokes, which is an underglaze. Once we have painted it with underglaze and then dipped the item in a clear glaze, we fire it in our kiln which heats up to 1800 degrees F. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions!

Thanks,

Erin

The effect of going from light to dark colors is called "ombre." It looks great and is super easy! You can apply the ombre effect to many pieces of pottery, and you can use all kinds of colors (we have so many different shades of pink in our studios, it's not even funny)! My favorite alternate title for this video blog is: Four Shades of Purple!
